Colin Billings

Colin has been involved in motor sport on both two and four wheels for more years than he cares to admit. He joined Sevenoaks & District Motor Club in 1989 and has twice sat as Chairman. He’s been an active competitor in rallies and has collected a number of regional awards and two national awards in 2005 and 2006. His activities are not confined to driving as he has held a Clerk of the Course licence for Sprints, Hill Climbs and Rallies and amongst others has been involved in the running of the charity hill climb held at Valence School, Barretts Rally of Kent and the four sprints previously held in the park. In his day job Colin is involved in the motor industry, organising and running national and international vehicle launches, shows and training seminars.  

 

Karen Webber

Karen is a key member of the organising team co-ordinating the competition element of the weekend. She has run the Sevenoaks Speed Championship for the past eight years and is a regular member of our organising teams, Karen has been secretary on numerous events including our MSA National Championship rounds held at Snetterton and Cadwell Park. Karen has a full time job looking after her two children who are both motorsport fans and keeping husband Andy (a very active competitor in his Lotus Elan) under control. Alongside this she has a full time job as a catalogue and advertising manager and runs the local Girls Brigade Company in her spare time!

Neil Brooks-Johnson

Neil was instrumental in obtaining permission from Bromley Council in 1997 for the first re opening of the sprint track and headed up the organising team for four successful years until 2000 when the park was put out of use. His competition background includes many sprints and claim to fame in running in the RAC Rally in 1993. Married with children holding back competition he works in banking advising regional businesses. ;

 

Martin Chinnery

Better known as Chin to all in motor sport. He is currently Chairman of the Sevenoaks & District Motor Club having been a member since 1968. He is also Chairs the local Regional Association of motor clubs and sits on the MSA Regional and MSA Rallies Committee. Over the many years he has competed in most types of motor sport and is currently enjoying rallying and trialling. If all this was not enough he is the company secretary to a South London motor factor and accessory shop and a member of the local Parish Council.

Nigel Mead


Nigel has been a club member for five years during which time he has been become an active competitor and currently sits on the committee.  He is increasingly becoming involved in the organisation of events and in 'Motorsport at the palace' he has taken on the co-ordination of sponsorship and promotional activities.

Working as sales and marketing manager within an international oil company, he is actively involved with customer relations and promotional activities.

 Rick Smith

Managing Director of Xenogamy Limited, one of the UK’s foremost motor sport event management and promotional agencies. An ex- professional rally co-driver, Rick brings a wealth of hands-on experience to any motor sport project; he currently sits on the Motor Sports Association Judicial Advisory Panel, is an FIA and MSA Steward, an MSA licensed International Clerk of the Course and a member of the MSA National Court.

Neil Roden

Neil Roden is the Managing Director of Roden Management Services Ltd, providing performance and risk management services. He has over 35 years experience of motor sport organisation in the UK and abroad. In addition to holding MSA Clerk of the Course licences for speed events and rallies, Neil specialises in risk management and contingency planning.

Andy Elcomb

Andy brings to Crystal Palace his experience since the late ‘70s of most types of club motor sport including as a racing driver, stage rally co-driver, road rally navigator, event organiser and official (Race and Speed Clerk of the Course) and has served on the Sevenoaks & District Motor Club committee for more than twenty years. Historic and Classic events particularly appeal to him and most years will also be found marshalling at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. In addition to his everyday work as a company secretary, Andy also instructs in all disciplines at Brands Hatch.

Clive Cooke

Clive is the current Treasurer of SDMC and is involved in a financial capacity with Motorsport at the Palace. In the past he spectated at many events at Crystal Palace including being fortunate enough to attend (in a DB4!!) the last ever race meeting in 1972 - run by the Aston Martin Owners Club. He had been an active competitor in rallies, trials and autotests with Bromley & DMC before joining Sevenoaks in the late 60's. Holder of an International Rally Licence at one time, Clive's main competing interest now is in the MCC Classic Trials, where he is a member of a very small group who have won Silver medals on 2, 3 and 4 wheels. As an organiser he has been involved in the Valence Hill Climb, the Summer autotest series and club trials. Any spare time is mainly taken up with caring for his two M.G.s and an 850 BMW.

Jason Andrews & Shelly Albrow

Jason and Shelly have been attending cars shows exhibiting their classic and Hot rod custom cars for the past 20 years.  They have been a Sevenoaks members for the last 2 years. During their first year of membership Jason took up hill climbing and sprinting in the Sevenoaks Speed League and they regularly marshal at other Sevenoaks events. They have been to many prestigious events such as Goodwood Revival, Classic Le mans 24 and Spa 6 Hour all of which has given them the knowledge to provide the feel good factor for an event such as Motorsport at the Palace.
